![]() Nothing that I can think of really feels under-explained. So, why doesn't she just tell a Little Sister to go help you through the doors? And of course, the ending feels very rushed and is a letdown.īioShock 2 feels the most complete, seemingly having fewer plot holes, and goes even more in depth with the story behind Rapture and its citizens. The reason it's weird is because Tennenbaum already has a few Little Sisters who aren't conditioned and who bring you gifts throughout the game (if you save the Little Sisters). The first BioShock had a weird, if somewhat minor, plot hole in which you are tasked with "becoming" a Big Daddy so that the Little Sisters will trust you and lead you to Fontaine. They're readily available, yet he's the only person that decides to use them. How come Elizabeth never used a tear to leave the tower prior to Booker showing up? Why is Booker inexplicably a crazy racist as Comstock? Where'd the money come from? Another bizarre aspect is that nobody other than Booker uses the TonicsVigors. The Boys of Silence, for example, come from nowhere and are not explained very well in-game. BioShock 2 allows for more strategies, especially when compared to Infinite's "wave mode" onslaught of enemies.Ģ) Story- I know that everyone loved BioShock Infinite's story, but beyond the twist, it is a rather muddled hodgepodge of concepts and ill-explained goings-on. This makes the combat have a better flow and really helps in those tense moments when you're being attacked by multiple enemies.Ĭompared to BioShock Infinite, both of the previous BioShock games had a more deliberate, slow-paced combat system (in general), due to the games heavy exploration-based gameplay. It's not a terrible system, by any means, but the mechanic is much more fluid in BioShock 2, where you can "dual-wield" a plasmid and a weapon and any time. To switch from the pistol to Electro Bolt 3, you have to press the left trigger (on the 360) to "equip" the plasmid, then press it again to use the plasmid. In the original BioShock, you can only equip either a weapon or a plasmid at one time. SPOILERS FOLLOWġ) Combat- The combat in BioShock 2 is probably the most readily apparent aspect that outshines the other two games in the series. Hopefully this'll lead to some discussion/counterpoints on my points. However, I'll try to keep this objective when possible.
